I remember, back then in 1997, as an unfinished high school student, I had one wish, and that was to go abroad. I didn’t know where or how, I just felt somewhere deep inside, that mentioned decision was the right decision for me and that it had to happen. Everyone around me was amazed. Why, they kept asking me, when you have everything back at home… and I said “This is why: to become independent and to grow up and to be my own man. My parents understood my decision (even though it was difficult for them) and supported me even though they themselves had not stayed abroad for a long time and did not speak foreign languages. And then, a thorny path had followed, full of uncertainty and unpredictability. I was lucky to meet Professor Kirk at my first year, who recognized in me that desire to succeed and did his best to help me along the way. That’s when I realized what a sincere and a real support means. I decided – I will be a professor and I will work with young people. And I learned every day about marketeering my great love, but also about life and the Italian culture which I fell in love with in the meantime. The life and academic experience I gained helped me to move forward bravely and full of confidence. And there was always a good man somewhere, to encourage me and help me when it was hard. Today, I work with students all over the world and keep fulfilling my lifelong mission, which is to educate and to help young people to realize their dreams.
