PROF. MARINA AMBROSECCHIO, PHD
UET, Milano, Italy
Hi EduEvo, my name is Marina Ambrosecchio and since 1993 I am President and founder of UET ITALIA Scuola Universitaria Europea per iI Turismo, whose campuses are in Milan, Rome, Palermo and operational headquarters in Shanghai and Chandigarah. As CEO of UET ITALIA I look after the coordination and management of Human Resources, Marketing, International affairs and Financial department control, establishing cooperation agreements with European and Asian universities.
I managed several International conferences, seminars and events on Tourism and Hospitality and I have been Chief Guest in the three last Tourism Leader’s Summits in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
In the last 18 years UET has been involved in several projects financed by European Community, as coordinator and partner in ERASMUS+, for SLEST “European Language Standards for the Tourism Sector“, aimed at providing a training scheme finalised to achieve a specific certificate for the tourism sector, being the sole training systems acknowledged by the European Union for the creation of language standards applied to the tourism sector.
EduEvo: How did you start your career?
Prof. Marina: I started as a Professor of French Literature in Italian State high school. Then I realised the lack of an effective postgratuate school in Tourism, tied to the Tourism sector and I made a proposal to the most important European Tour Operator to set up a Tourism Training School in Italy. We have started in 1993.
EduEvo: Please present us your University.
Prof. Marina: UET – European University School for Tourism – was founded in 1993 with the aim of training professionals in the tourism sector. The strenght of our school?
Each training course is created to transfer the most appropriate knowledge and contents to achieve the desired results, immediately usable in the job market.
A highly professional team is constantly available to offer support and assistance to each student. Throughout the course of study, the UET staff directs towards the best solutions in the training field, based on the needs and objectives of each participant.
EduEvo: Why would you recommend the students to study at UET?
Prof. Marina: I recommend potential students to study at UET Universitary School of Tourism because the goal of UET is to be the reference point in the training of professionals in the tourism sector, through a methodology that is not only theoretical, but which also provides practical and concrete skills to be able to immediately enter the world of work by realizing what is required by international tourist companies.
In fact, our teachers are all selected from the most important companies in the world of tourism and have years of experience in the subject they teach at UET.
Furthermore, in all our courses, training internships are of fundamental importance, which allow students to gain experience directly in the field and evaluate the path that best suits their objectives, putting into practice what they have learned during classroom lessons.
EduEvo: What kind of advice would you give the youngsters being at the very beginning of their educational and professional career?
Prof. Marina: My personal advice to youngsters is to be curious and follow their dreams with passion and constancy.
The field of tourism is one of the best sectors where to grow up professionally, but it is important to acquire the right skills to be effective and spendable in this sector, always answering to the requirements of international companies who require a regular update of knowledge in consideration of the new trends in tourism.
Nowadays foreign languages and digital competencies are at the base of any path of study, but in the field of tourism they are compulsory.
