EXCELLENCY FROM ISTANBUL

Pinar Yuksel

Istanbul, Turkey

“Hi! Greetings from Istanbul. I am Pinar Yuksel, born in 1994. I can briefly define myself as a lifelong learner who exudes enthusiasm while trying to become the best version of myself, helping everybody around me to do the same too, self-motivated and effective communicator.

I have always felt a passion for communicating with people from other nations and cultures. This has driven me to study Tourism and Hotel Management for undergraduate studies. And then, I immediately started looking for a Master’s program which is concentrated on managing and maintaining efficient interpersonal relations for reaching organizational goals. Eventually, I found the appropriate program for myself, I studied Management and Leadership with a specialization in Management Consulting.

I did study abroad for my MSc. First, I decided what I really wanted to study, then I started searching for options and creating an option list. I have checked the important things about the university; the school’s academic background, achievements, accreditations, professors, program details, and students’ activities. Then, everything about the city such as living standards, transportation, and social activities. After my personal evaluation, I decided to study at Budapest Metropolitan University.

Basically, education is the most crucial thing for the development of both an individual and the country. As for me, education is the best investment that you could do for yourself. Even though most people get bored in school and classes, I always enjoy even being at school. Because it also creates socialization with other people. Thus, it is the best way to enhance your skills and knowledge while learning new things, by spending time with your friends.

I am currently preparing myself for doctoral studies. Since the Ph.D. studies require more dedication, I am at the stage of getting prepared for any type of entrance exams and creating research plans according to the schools that I am planning to study Business Administration or Management.

I have had the great fortune to work and study overseas at my young age, which has helped me develop a priceless worldview. Therefore, I would like to enrich these experiences more by adding new ones. Therefore, while studying for Ph.D., working and being active in the professional life would be very pleasing for me. Because it is obvious that while you cannot reach the theoretical knowledge without studying, you cannot also get the real-life experience without actively working. To summarize, my future plan is to be efficient and effective on both sides.

My advice could be listed for many pages but I will speak short and direct.

The first thing, listen to your heart that whispers to you to go and travel all around the world because I know you hear those encouraging voices. I understand you have some concerns, but, believe me, you will overcome everything. At the end of the time you spend abroad, those voices will be transformed into a unique set of feeling that you could sense at every inch of your body!

– When your name is announced in the diploma ceremony!

– When you remember the memories that you collected with your international friends in different countries!

– When you remember you had to face some struggles but eventually you overcame them perfectly!

Believe me, you will definitely appreciate your brave step to study and travel abroad. Because it will be ‘your own decision’ and ‘your own accomplishment’, full of lovely memories.

PS: Never forget to leave each person you meet better and more empowered than before. Because it is the two-way around thing.“
