Zimbabwe

“My name is Tafadzwa and I am from Zimbabwe. I am studying Master’s in Management and Leadership at Budapest Metropolitan University in Hungary.

Just to explain a little bit about my country, Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in the Southern African region with a population of 15 million people. It is a land that is rich in heritage, minerals, culture. The country is famous for its breath taking tourist attractions such as Victoria Falls and Inyanga. The languages spoken are Shona, Ndebele and English.

Before I came, it has always been my dream to study abroad. Europe was the first thought that came to my mind when I was still pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Zimbabwe. I chose Hungary for my studies because:

  1. The tuition is relatively affordable in most universities;
  2. Safe – it very safe to travel around at any time;
  3. Quality education – You will obtain a good university degree that is accredited;
  4. Diversity – you meet students from all over the world. I have met people from Egypt, Iran, Turkey, China and Nigeria. It is a good opportunity to network with other students. It is also a great chance to learn different cultures;
  5. Travel – since Hungary is in central Europe and a Schengen country, it is possible to travel to countries like Austria, Slovakia and Germany without restrictions;
  6. Relatively low cost of living;
  7. Opportunities – While studying, you have access to a lot of opportunities. For example, you can have a part time job, attend educational seminars or even learn a European language;
  8. There are beautiful tourist places around Budapest such as Fisherman’s Bastion and the parliament. Hungary is also famous for its vibrant culture and immense beauty of nature;
  9. Student discounts – As a student I benefit from student discounts from restaurants, cinemas and museums;
  10. Good transport system – Europe has one of the best and most efficient transport system in the world.

I chose to study Management and Leadership because I want to gain a combination of theoretical and practical management knowledge and skills that will enable me to work as a professional manager in any business organization. Acquiring knowledge from this degree will also allow me to understand how to operate a business in a much better way thus, adding value to my small business back home in Zimbabwe. I would definitely recommend studying in Europe.”
